While many are calling for President Obama’s impeachment, conservative actor James Woods provided a compelling — if stomach-turning — argument against it.
Woods sent this tweet on Friday:
There is this argument for NOT impeaching Obama: leave him in office like a rotting elephant head. Let Dems explain THAT legacy in 2016.
— James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) July 11, 2014
Many of Woods’ followers agreed, tweeting these responses to back him up:
@RealJamesWoods Exactly. I want him going down in history as the total disaster he really is, not as a victimized martyr — Poo Picker (@poo_picker) July 11, 2014
Providing a short history lesson, some Twitter users harkened back to Bill Clinton’s impeachment — and its backlash — with these tweets:
@TheJanSimpson @RealJamesWoods-Particularly the ‘Impeachment’ Clinton was handed. A slap on the wrist & back to it. — judy w. miller (@judywmiller) July 11, 2014
Others completely disagreed with Woods, tweeting reasons such as these:
@RealJamesWoods So, don’t cut out the Gangrene? Lose the Leg? James, you’re a smart guy but this is bad advice.

One response went in a different direction, providing this bit of insight:
@RealJamesWoods The best argument is President Joe Biden.
