Perry takes Hannity inside Obama meeting: ‘He’s inept, or there’s something else going on’

A president who spends his days flitting to fundraisers in the Rockies should be getting a dose of reality on the Rio Grande instead.

But he’s not listening.

rickperry0710That was the message Texas Gov. Rick Perry brought Fox viewers Wednesday as he laid out his Air Force One meeting with President Obama about the Central American immigrants illegally flooding the country’s border with Mexico.

The problem, Perry told interviewer Sean Hannity, is Obama doesn’t seem to grasp the enormity of the situation – or what his role actually is.

“It’s about real people, and real issues, a humanitarian crisis that he has the ability to stop,” Perry said.

And that emergency could be stemmed almost immediately with 1,000 more National Guard troops stationed at the border, Perry said, rather than a $3.7 billion package that would do almost nothing for security on the ground.

During the interview, Hannity played clips of Obama and administration officials assuring Americans the border is secure.

“That’s the same president that said al Qaeda’s on the run,” Perry said. And I don’t know whether he’s inept, or there’s something else going on, as I’ve said before. But the fact is the border is not secure …”

“Bring us inside the room,” Hannity said. “Your observations, your insights, your read of this man … and his understanding of what we’re talking about here.”

“I did a lot of listening,” Perry said. “I don’t know whether he hear what I said … It’s one of the reasons I want him to come to the border. He really needs to see how the interaction with these different law enforcement and the addition of the National Guard could secure that border.

“You can’t talk about it, you have to act, Mr. President. That’s what leadership is.”

But he’s not listening.

Check out the interview here. You’re going to be disturbed.
