A Texas grandmother survived a violent attack Sunday after fighting off a home intruder with a stick and a pot of boiling water.
Lillie McClendon, 83, said she noticed a window open shortly before the intruder choked her and demanded money, according to ABC affiliate KTRK-13.
“I told him, I said, ‘What kind of momma you got that raised you up like this?” she told KTRK-13. “You oughta be ashamed of yourself.'”
McClendon fought back with whatever she could reach.
“Oh shoot yeah. I got a stick and tried to hit him,” she said. “I had sausage on the stove. I put hot water on him.”
The suspect got away, but likely not without injury.
