‘It’s just Obama versus the cross’; billboard slams Obama’s attacks on religious freedom

cross_obamaA billboard in Spartanburg, S.C., is proving to be hard to miss — for all the right reasons.

The billboard pairs President Obama‘s iconic campaign symbol against a simple cross, complete with the caption: “Time for a new revolution?”

The message, contrasted against a bright yellow background, is the work of the Liberty Counsel, a group dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and the family.

Mathew Staver, founder and chairman, said the billboard depicts the truth, according to Fox Carolina.

“He (President Obama) has had a war on American and GeoChristian values,” Staver told the Fox affiliate. “We’re urging people to engage in a revolution of ideas to get involved in the political process.”

As seen in the Hobby Lobby case, where the Supreme Court ruled that the Christian company could not be required to provide abortion-inducing drugs for its employees, it’s hard to argue that religious liberty is not under attack by the Obama administration.

Even further, David Barton, founder and president of WallBuilders, has called Obama “America’s most biblically-hostile U. S. president.”

As for the billboard, it is doing what it is intended to do — draw attention.

“It’s an eyecatcher,” local resident Leo Kingsley told Fox Carolina. “It’s just hey – there it is. It’s just Obama vs. the cross.”
