A former porn star seeking a seat on the Palm Beach County School Board in South Florida has created a stir with his sex education platform.
David Mech, who went by the name “Dave Pounder” as an actor and producer in the adult film industry, is challenging incumbent Karen Brill.
Mech runs Happy/Fun Math Tutor, a district-approved vendor that created a problem for administration officials last year when they discovered the company had the same address as Mech’s former film production company, according to NBC Miami. After his tutoring signs were removed from district schools, Mech sued the district. The suit is still pending and details are posted on his campaign website.
Mech’s top campaign priorities include modernizing sexual education in the school system.
“If you don’t agree condoms should be available to high school students to reduce teen pregnancy and STD’s, then don’t vote for me,” Mech told NBC Miami Tuesday.
Mech’s top priorities include technology, innovation, equality, sex education and secular values, according to his campaign website.
