President Obama is running the country like a banana republic, conservative author Charles Krauthammer said Wednesday.
The president believes he doesn’t need Congress and is governing without it, Krauthammer told Bill O’Reilly on the “O’Reilly Factor.”
“Perception is reality in politics,” O’Reilly said. “The perception, of course, now is that the president can’t administrate effectively.”
Krauthammer said it doesn’t matter if the president is popular or not.
“He’s got his own constitution that he’s operating under,” he said. “He now regulates the entire health care system. The story that was missed among all the scandals that are supposedly undoing his presidency, is the climate-change regulations.”
It’s all about regulations, not legislation, Krauthammer said, and Obama is putting the Environmental Protection Agency in control of U.S. energy.
“You want to run America?” he asked hypothetically. “Don’t run for the presidency, get yourself head of the EPA.”
