Tahmooressi describes cruel abuse, pleads to Greta Van Susteren: ‘Please, get me out of here’

The Marine reservist being held in a Mexican prison on weapons charges had one request during an interview that aired Monday night on Fox:

tahmooressi0610Get me out of here.”

Speaking by phone with Fox News host Greta Van Susteren, Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi said conditions at the prison he was originally held in were so bad, his current incarceration awaiting trial has been a relatively “peaceful place.”

In the previous prison, where he was held after his April 1 arrest for accidentally crossing the Mexican-American border with firearms illegal in Mexico, Tahmooressi said he was shackled so tightly that his ankles bled and his wrists chafed. Guards once denied him water for a full 24 hours, he said.

Meanwhile, a suspected Army deserter is getting top-flight medical care in Germany after being released by the Taliban in Afghanistan in return for the release of five top terrorist commanders held in Guantanamo Bay.

Go figure.
