Flipping smart cars becoming fad in trendy San Francisco

flipped-carWith dwarf-tossing having been deemed politically incorrect, a new fad is beginning to sweep the land.

Smart car flipping.

San Francisco is dealing with a growing number of eco-friendly smart cars being flipped in the streets — the little cars weigh about 1,800 pounds.

According to NBC Bay Area, two cars were flipped over the weekend, which adds to four other incidents that occurred in April.

The prank — police say it’s felony vandalism — results in the itsy, bitsy cars being tipped onto their sides, roofs or ends right were they’re parked.

An eyewitness told NBC Bay Area that he saw a group of 6-8 people wearing hooded sweatshirts tip one of the cars.

“They looked like they were up to no good,” Brandon Michael said. “And sure enough, they huddled around it and lifted it up.”

He added the flipped cars “look like they are dachshunds sitting up on their hind legs.”
