Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid spilled the beans on Thursday that he had been notified of the decision to trade Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for the five Taliban “dream team” terrorists the night before the exchange occurred.
Republican senators, on the other hand, did not find out about the deal until just prior to President Obama’s announcement on Saturday.
Reporters asked Reid about the timing of the call from the White House.
“I’m not sure I’m the only one,” Reid said. “I mean, it has made a big deal over nothing. The whole deal is, ‘Is it Friday or Saturday?’ What difference does it make? What difference does it make?”
