POW dad blasted as ‘traitor,’ ‘Gitmo Fairy Godmother’; powerful accusations from angry Americans

Robert Bergdahl sounds more and more like Baghdad Bob — and Americans are getting furious.

The father of American POW Bowe Bergdahl, the Army sergeant who was captured by Afghan insurgents after wandering away from his base in Afghanistan in 2009, is becoming the focus of national anger for a Twitter post Sunday that drew attention to a video by the lefty British newspaper the Guardian about Tunisian prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay.

The welcome from Twitter users was decidedly unfriendly. This guy’s son’s freedom was paid for by the release of five terrorist killers to the questionable custody of the emirate of Qatar — where they’re likely to kill again.

People are getting suspicious — and angry — that he’s so concerned about even more Gitmo terrorists.

The anger is palpable. First there was Bergdahl’s deleted Tweet that vowed to work for the freedom of all the prisoners at Gitmo. Then Bergdahl thanked “Allah” — in Arabic — during a White House news conference with President Obama on Sunday. Now this.

Is Bergdahl forgetting these men are terrorists? Sworn enemies of the country calls his own?

Other users pointed out that the search for Bowe Bergdahl endangered fellow American soldiers after his disappearance. According to CNN, at least six soldiers died looking for the sergeant after his disappearance, and some fellow soldiers said Bowe Bergdahl had actually deserted.

This one about sums it up, though.

Amen.
