Police are investigating what is being called a “dummy” wearing a President Obama mask found hanging from a bridge in Missouri early Monday.
The dummy caused traffic to be shut down on I-70 when police suspected it had explosives attached to it, according to the local Fox affiliate.
“The item that we had, we thought possibly could have been explosive,” Sgt. Ronda Montgomery told Fox4KC. “So we went ahead and shut down I-70 in both directions to ensure that if it was explosive there was nothing that was going to cause a hazard to any passersby, and once we removed that from the scene we opened up I-70 almost immediately.”
Authorities are trying to determine if the stunt was intended as a threat against the president.
