‘Disrespectful’ schools stir controversy by holding class on Memorial Day

Not all schools were closed on Memorial Day. Some in Texas, North Carolina and Kentucky were in session to make up missed days from winter’s bad weather.

Several schools took the opportunity to bring in veterans on Monday to speak, and teach the children the meaning of Memorial Day. While most students attended, there were parents who chose to keep their kids home, according to KHOU in Texas.
