Hagel pushes Obama gay agenda further, backs ‘review’ of military ban on transgenders

Opening the military to openly gay men and women to please a vocal Democratic constituency wasn’t enough. Soldiers and sailors who want to live as the other sex should be able to serve too, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Sunday.

chuckhagel0512In an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Hagel said the military’s current ban on transgender men and women “should be reviewed.”

“I’m open to those assessments, because — again, I go back to the bottom line — every qualified American who wants to serve our country should have an opportunity if they fit the qualifications and can do it,” Hagel said.

Any time a liberal says a centuries-old rule is up for “review,” it means there’s a new rule coming down the pike as soon as they can figure out how to make it work without stoking an open rebellion from the sane part of the population. (That rule goes for Republican senators who get appointed by Democrat presidents.)

And when a liberal Democrat administration is looking in the face of a disastrous midterm election and needs to do anything it can to gin up support among its radical base, anything is possible — even disrupting the American military and the nation’s security.

To supporters of transgender rights and American traitors, it’s great news. Bradley Manning — the gay former Army private who sold out his country to a Lady Gaga song – might be able to fulfill his dream of living as a woman named “Chelsea” in his Leavenworth cell, for instance. (He’ll still be in prison, but life is full of tradeoffs.)

During the fight over his confirmation as defense secretary, Hagel sat in front of a committee of his former Senate colleagues and begged for the job on the disgraceful grounds that “I won’t be in a policy-making position.”

He’s not. He’s just doing whatever a liberal American president in deep political trouble tells him to do to advance the liberal agenda – which in Hagel’s case seems to be making the U.S. military the most powerful gay organization on earth.

The man well on his way to being the worst secretary of defense in American history is doing his best to nail down the title.
