Ted Cruz’s tiger skin rug picture spawns massive hate

On an otherwise quiet Wednesday evening, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, set Twitter abuzz when he tweeted a photo of himself posing with a tiger skin rug.

Kneeling alongside U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, the men are seen with what appears to be a real tiger skin rug, complete with a stuffed head. The caption states: “Did a little shopping for the office with @SenMikeLee in Houston today.”

As might be expected, the PETA crowd went nuts, spewing their special brand of hatred at the potential 2016 GOP presidential nominee. It is not clear if the tiger skin is real or not, but that didn’t stop the avalanche of insults.
