Vice President Joe Biden wants to make Ted Cruz the Democrats’ boogeyman – and he’s willing to lie to do it.
In a fundraising appeal blasted to Democrat supporters, and everyone else on the mailing list, Biden warned that Monday night’s end of the year’s first fiscal quarter made his latest pitch more important than usual.
If the libs don’t shell out, Biden wrote in the email’s subject line, “We could lose.”
“If we wake up on Tuesday and find out we came up short, we’re in bad shape for November — that is not hyperbole,” Biden wrote, laughably enough. (At least he didn’t say it was “literally not hyperbole.”)
“Losing will mean more senators like Ted Cruz, and more Tea Party Republicans in the House.”
Democrats are going to wake up Tuesday morning in bad shape for November no matter how the fundraising quarter ends — but it has nothing to do with money.
According to the liberal Huffington Post, House Democrats are having a record year for fundraising and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has been consistently ahead of Republicans for more than a year.
On the Senate side, the story is the same.
Contrary to the vice president, the Democrats big problem this year isn’t that they don’t have enough money.
Their big problem is that they’re Democrats facing an electorate that’s heartily sick of their party and president who leads it — and the vice president is willing to lie to his own supporters about it.
And that’s not hyperbole.
