Rick Perry gets love from Jimmy Kimmel audience over 2016 presidential run answer

In a 7-minute Wednesday morning interview, Texas Gov. Rick Perry gave ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel a warning and maybe even a hint at what he could be doing in 2016.

Kimmel took his show on the road and ended up in Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest conference — home to good music, good barbecue and the good Texas governor.

When Perry confirmed the rumor that he’d once shot a coyote while out jogging, Kimmel expressed surprise that the governor carries a gun when running.

“I do interviews with a gun,” he said.

At the end, the host brought up the possibility of another presidential run.

“Why would you run for president? I mean, it didn’t go that great last time,” Kimmel joked.

“You know, America is a great place for second chances,” Perry said. The audience loved it.
