Conservatives outraged over insulting premise of new action-thriller ‘Non-Stop’

Conservatives are panning the action film, “Non-Stop,” but not for reasons Hollywood may expect.

Spoiler alert – if you plan to see the film, read no further.

The thriller finds Liam Neeson as a burnt-out, alcoholic air marshal hoping to relax on an international flight. His plans are ruined when he gets a text message warning that one person on the flight will die unless money is wired to a specified account, according to Breitbart News.

The flight has 150 people onboard, including the crew, and the villain terrorist looking to kill them is someone many conservatives believe doesn’t need to be maligned by a Hollywood script.

This is how Breitbart describes the film’s surprise ending:

The terrorist is a 9/11 family member. Yes, you read that right; the terrorist is a 9/11 family member who lost a loved-one in the World Trade Center on that terrible September morning.

After 9/11, this 9/11 family member-turned-terrorist then joined the military but found himself disillusioned by the pointless wars.

The 9/11 family member-turned-terrorist is upset because America hasn’t done enough to ensure there will never be another 9/11. And so he figures that if he can get an air marshal blamed for a terrorist attack, America will wake up and anally probe us before we’re allowed on a plane, or something.

The villain’s sidekick is a member of the American military willing to murder 150 innocent people for a payday.

The one passenger on the plane who is forever helpful, kind, reasonable, noble, and never under suspicion is a Muslim doctor dressed in traditional Muslim garb including a full beard.

Movie reviews fail to mention any such details.

“Given that so many of the 150 people on board come under suspicion at some point, the eventual unmasking of the villain, or villains, is no more or less surprising than if it had been anyone else,” The Hollywood Reporter wrote. “But the rationale for the dastardly plot is hokey and thin, hardly worthy of the great lengths pursued it pull it off.”

Of course, most reviewers don’t want to give away the ending. But many moviegoers may want to know what’s coming before dropping hard-earned money on such propaganda.

Glenn Beck “hated it so much that he spoiled the ending for millions of people on his radio show Friday,” The Blaze reported. “He said he hopes that by revealing the ending, listeners have no reason to waste their money on the film.”

Without divulging details, Fox News said, “Suspension of disbelief is required and the quicker you can accept that, the more enjoyable ‘Non-Stop’ will be.”
