Vice President Joe Biden cornered a young woman sitting outside a Scottsdale, Ariz. restaurant and gave her a hard sell on Obamacare. The only problem was, she’s not an American citizen.
Before he entered Butterfield’s Pancake House and Restaurant, the vice president sat down next to a woman named “Jackie” out front, according to news footage captured by KTVK-TV.
“Everybody young signs up for health care,” Biden said. “It’s affordable. You can get subsidies to do it, and it’s in your interest. And if you don’t even want to do it for yourself, do it for your parents. Give them peace of mind.”
Jackie was visiting the United Stated from Canada.
“I just didn’t know if I should just say ‘I’m sorry,'” Jackie lamented to the network, adding that she was for health care reform and hoped it worked out in the U.S.
Biden’s pitch to the young woman came mere hours after he and the president filmed a “Let’s Move” commercial for the first lady.
