Dems start potshots on each other: Cult-like Hillary PAC ‘a fan club for a boy band’

Although the presidential primary has barely reached the first inning, for some Democrats, it’s never too early to start hurling brickbats at presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Former South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian was the latest to let it rip, according to the Independent Journal Review.

“Is it a political organization or a fan club for a boy band?” the staunch Biden supporter said in describing Clinton’s super Pac, Ready for Hillary. “I think it’s a cult, not a political movement. Ready for Hillary compared to who? The field still has to develop.”

U.S. Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina also raised red flags, noted ‘s Journal Review post, cautioning against “misplaced priorities” in anointing the former first lady so early in the game.

“The overemphasis and time and energy spent on presidential politics at this juncture are misplaced,” Clyburn said. “You don’t deal with a structure from the top down in politics. … I just wish that all these people who spend all their time on presidential politics in 2016 would spend half that time on the governor’s race in 2014, and putting structure in place.”

Looks like batting practice has begun in more than just the baseball diamond.
