Outspoken conservative Dr. Ben Carson joined alongside keynote speaker U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, to give attendees their money’s worth Friday at the Palm Beach County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner.
Urging those gathered at Donald Trump’s lavish Mar-a-Lago mansion to “pick up the mantle of courage,” the retired Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon stood firm on recent remarks he made that had the “PC police” on the left in an uproar.

Earlier this month, Carson said people with values must stand up, pointing out that most people in Nazi Germany did not believe in what Hitler was doing but never spoke up.
“This is what they do,” he said. “And this is why we have to have an educated populace so you can learn for yourself what’s going on, not be spoon-fed by a bunch of people in the media who have problems with their intellect.”
Speaking from personal experience, Carson told the crowd, “Don’t listen to the hysterical media who will try to do everything they can to destroy anybody who is telling the truth.”
Other notables in a room full of stars included Florida’s newly minted Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam, the head of the American Conservative Union, Al Cardenas and former Congressman Allen West.
