The Rev. Al Sharpton played the race card once again likening the minimum wage with slavery, following a meeting with President Obama on Tuesday.

Sharpton, along with a group of black leaders, met with the president for about an hour then took to microphones outside the event to say a few words, according to The Blaze.

Sharpton’s topic was the minimum wage, according to the White House pool, which reported:

“What must be weighed in any analysis, CBO and others, is that blacks suffer disproportionately from having to do work and not get the kind of wages that we need. This is a central concern in our community. It’s not just having a job; but having wages that are guaranteed to provide for our families. We had full employment in the black community during slavery. We just didn’t have wages. So we don’t want just a job, we want a job that pays, and pays so that we can take care of our families.”

Using slavery as an example, Sharpton appears to make the case that it’s not about qualifications, it’s the pay that’s important.
