Geraldo says ‘stop torturing families,’ Benghazi case closed; scorn pours in . . .

Near has-been newsman Geraldo Rivera  is catching a blast of Twitter outrage for suggesting it’s time to move on from the Benghazi terror attack of 2012.

geraldorivera0213The man best known these days as a selfie-star used a report released Tuesday by congressional investigators that found no “stand down” order that forbade an attempt to save the lives of Americans in the mission when it was attacked by terrorists on the 11th anniversary of 9/11 to make the case that the case is closed.

And he claimed he was trying to spare the families of those murdered men further suffering.

The response was immediate and angry.

Much as Geraldo and the rest of the media sycophants might wish it otherwise, there’s no getting around the fact that four Americans died in an American diplomatic compound in one of the world’s most dangerous countries, on a date that even a school child would know would be a time of heightened danger for terrorist attacks.

Here are some samples, thanks to Twitchy.com.

Some poured scorn on Geraldo’s logic ….

Others said the response to the attack wasn’t as important as how defenseless the diplomats were in the first place.

Others pointed out the president of the United States apparently had more pressing things do at the time — like rest up for a fundraising swing to Las Vegas.

And the clincher is, as always,  the reminder that when four dead Americans came home in coffins, their flag-covered coffins were greeted by two people with a cover story of their own.

That’s a question Geraldo can’t answer. But yes, Madame Former Secretary, after all this time, it still makes a difference.
