A CBS tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Beatles appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” has been a popular topic on Twitter since airing Sunday night.
There was much banter about how “high” actors Sean Penn and Johnny Depp were during separate appearances on the show. But that didn’t stop CNN’s Piers Morgan from referring to Penn as “one of my true heroes.”
One of my true heroes > Sean Penn. #beatlestribute

Of course, few liberals fire up conservatives as quickly as the British journalist who has made a name for himself as a gun control fanatic — and they let him have it for suggesting that Hollywood moonbat Penn is a hero, as captured by Twitchy:
@piersmorgan BWAHAHAHA—> Sean Penn hero?

One Twitter user tried to induce a little levity, suggesting Penn may be a hero for surviving a marriage to Madonna, but even that effort was squashed with a healthy dose of reality:
@piersmorgan didn’t he also beat her? What a great guy and indisputable true hero.
