Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Susan Haynie released her first television ad over the weekend, touting her commitment to keeping “the Boca way” while adapting to the future.
In the ad, Haynie says she’s said “no” to overdevelopment, while saying “yes” to community imperatives such as better roads, safer neighborhoods and a “world class medical center.”
Haynie, a 40-year Boca Raton resident, lives with her husband, Neil Haynie, in the Camino Gardens neighborhood. They have five grown children.
She has been endorsed by outgoing Mayor Susan Whelchel, who cannot run again because of term limits.
Haynie’s opponent in the March 11 election is Boca Raton City Council member and Palm Beach County firefighter Anthony Majhess.
