Watch: ‘9/11 Truther’ crash Super Bowl MVP press conference

911-trutherA post-game press conference featuring Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith was crashed by a “9/11 truther,” to the astonishment of all.

“Investigate 9/11,” the unidentified man cried as he took the microphone. “9/11 was perpetrated by people within our own government.”

Smith looked around in bewilderment, and after the intruder dashed off, he asked, “Is everyone all right? Somebody check his press pass.”

But did Seattle head coach Pete Carroll prompt the incident?

Deadspin.com, a publication known to cover controversial aspects of sports, reported last week on a meeting last year with retired four-star Army General Peter Chiarelli. Carroll “wanted to know if the September 11 attacks had been planned or faked by the United States government,” according to Deadspin.

“Every 9/11 conspiracy theory you can think of, Pete asked about,” Riki Ellison was quoted as saying. Ellison is a former NFL player who introduced Carroll to Chiarelli.

Referencing a “source close to Chiarelli,” Deadspin reported “the general had to leave the room because Carroll had rankled him so thoroughly.”
