Sean Hannity to attend State of the Union with Louie Gohmert

It’s pretty hard to upstage the president and honored guests at the State of the Union address, but U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert may have accomplished just that.

Fox News’ Sean Hannity will be in attendance at this year’s address on Tuesday, Jan. 28 as the guest of the Texas Republican Gohmert, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Grab the popcorn because you know the cameras are going to be watching his every move while Obama speaks, maybe waiting for a Justice Samuel Alito-type shaking of the head and mouthing “not true,” or some such.

The Dallas “Trail Blazers Blog” ran heavy with speculation that Hannity “may have his own political ambitions in the Lone Star state” after he announced Monday he was taking Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s advice for conservatives to leave New York.

According to the blog, Hannity didn’t rule out a run for office someday:

“The answer is yes, I’d think about it,” Hannity said when a viewer asked via Twitter about his inclination to run for office eventually. “It would either be in Texas or Florida.” Hannity, who has indicated he’s leaving what he calls “anti-conservative” New York, later contrasted the state with Texas.

Hannity isn’t the only guest of a conservative lawmaker looking to make a statement and send a message to Obama.

“Rep. Steve Stockman has invited Chad Henderson, the former Obama volunteer who told reporters in October about his success signing up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Later, he revealed he did not actually enroll,” the Dallas paper said.

“I look forward to giving Chad the opportunity to attend the State of the Union Address. Now when President Obama speaks about ObamaCare the media will have someone they can cut to,” Stockman said. “I encourage the President to acknowledge him and his story.”
