Riding the ‘River of No Return’ with Obama, Reid and Pelosi

If you are among the majority of Americans who enjoy and appreciate your life, what are you doing now — right now to stop those who want to impose a wholly different way of life on you?

Have you been voting, unaware, for politicians who promise you things but don’t tell you the enormous penalties we will pay in the end, after they have retired from government with full pensions and full girth and (hopefully) a guilty conscience?

Scurrilous imposters get elected and pose as statesmen who then work every day to end-run the American Creed so they can gather more power and more votes for their next election.

We have national politicians who lie to you. They tell you they will bring hope and change, but they don’t tell you their changes will require you to live like people in the socialist nations of Europe. Under the yoke. They don’t tell you that you will live your future in a diminished America. They refuse to admit that the changes they make will mean less freedom for you to make your own decisions about how you live your life.

Many politicians fit the liar’s mold, but the three who have caused the most destruction in the last few years are Senate President Harry Reid, President Barack Obama and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. I call them The People of the Lie, as chronicled in Scott Peck’s famous book.

As these three rascals continue to undermine America’s greatness, your freedoms will continue to diminish. If you are successful financially, they will confiscate and redistribute your money to pay a lot of other people’s bills along with your own. If you show personal responsibility, you will be taken advantage of by people who have none.

On the other hand, if you think these three demolishers of the American way are wonderful, most likely you are receiving a lot of free stuff and free food, or you want government to relieve your debts, or you are deluded and blind to the coming chain-reaction consequences.

For the moment, we are stuck with Obama and Reid, and we have to resist them and their selfish motives at every turn. Pelosi craves the House speakership again, which will likely happen if voters make the mistake of turning the House over to Democrats this November. So don’t let the midterm election take us down that dead-end road.

For responsible Americans, current politics is like riding a wild river on a raft, plunging headlong through dangerous rapids, taking on water, rocks on every side, rushing faster and faster on a hazardous journey that may end in a giant waterfall. The raft could overturn at any moment, and you can’t get out and walk away.

But these risks are not as fearsome as the ultimate danger that awaits: We might be riding the River of No Return, where we can never return to the era of American greatness. We have a president who does not believe in American exceptionalism, who loves Big Debt, is not willing to fight for America to be the leader of the free world, takes no inspiration from the Founding Fathers, and who mishandled the Arab Spring revolutions.

If my river tale makes sense to you and strikes even a bit of fear in your heart, you have 10 months to work as hard you can before the election, to defeat the People of the Lie and their allies across the land. Yes, this is a call for action. Get involved in political races. Fight for candidates who will stand against “progressive” politics, and give them money. Challenge the deeds and statements of the liars.

But if you stroll through the next few months and shirk responsibility to keep the destroyers at bay, you will get the government you deserve. And it will get uglier.
