Chris Matthews: The right owes Susan Rice an apology for Benghazi

It will be a cold day in hell before “somebody out there on the right” apologizes to National Security Advisor Susan Rice for the false and misleading talking points she used on the Sunday talk show circuit after the Benghazi terrorist attack, no matter what MSNBC’s Chris Matthews wants or expects.

During the closing segment on “Hardball” Thursday night, Matthews cited the findings of the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report on Benghazi saying it was the Central Intelligence Agency’s, not then-U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Rice’s, decision to remove the words “terrorist” and “al-Qaida” out of the talking points she was given to use five times on five shows Sunday, September 16, 2012.

And Matthews claimed that what Rice said that Sunday was “true.” “It was a spontaneous, opportunistic attack that had been triggered by a similar, earlier attack in Cairo that day. An attack that was triggered, they suspect, by that anti-Islamic movie made by some character out in California.”

Because we all know those forty-plus people were simply out for an evening stroll and happened to be carrying rocket-propelled grenades and AK-47s when they decided to “spontaneously” assault  – using military-style tactics in a multi-prong attack – the U.S. Consulate compound in Benghazi.

But Matthews believes Rice is now owed an apology:

“[The findings] must have been particularly good and gratifying news for National Security Advisor Susan Rice,” and, he concluded, “Somebody out there on the right tonight owes Miss Rice an apology. Don’t you think, don’t you think?”

Matthews’ take is the expected liberal spin, as was fellow liberal Piers Morgan, who tried to blame deceased Ambassador Chris Stevens for the Benghazi attack during his show Thursday evening.

But it is absolutely well known and documented that the intelligence community, the Defense Department, the State Department and the Obama White House knew within moments of the attack commencing that it was terrorism.

And Rice, who also knew damn-right well it was terrorists who killed four Americans that night, took the talking points to spin the false tale about a YouTube video and spontaneous demonstration for her commander-in-chief who was facing reelection.

No, Mr. Matthews. What is owed is #JusticeforBengahzi4.
