A Texas movie theater has canceled some of its weekend blockbusters to accommodate the massive crowds that arrived to see “Lone Survivor” on Saturday.

The Grand Theater in Conroe posted a sign in its window announcing it had cancelled such hit films as “Anchorman 2” and the “Wolf of Wall Street.”

“Lone Survivor” features Mark Wahlberg as Marcus Luttrell, the Navy SEAL who authored the book on which the film is based. Luttrell was the only one of a four-man reconnaissance team to survive an ambush by Taliban fighters while pursuing an al-Qaida leader with suspected ties to Osama bin Laden.

Wahlberg posted a photo of the sign in the theater window on his Facebook page:

The movie is surging at the box office after a strong opening Friday, especially in the heartland states, of Texas, Utah, Colorado, Georgia, Nevada and Virginia, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Early predictions say the film is on course to take in around $34 million over the weekend, clearly putting it at the top of the charts.
