The oh-so-important millennials – the “young invincibles” – needed to make Obamacare work are now being stalked where they shop and play in an effort to get them enrolled in healthcare.
DC Health Links, the District’s new “online health insurance marketplace,” was hot on the trail of the 18-34-year-old crowd this past weekend looking to catch them as “they party by night and shop by day” to sign them up for Obamacare.”

Assisters to catch young DC residents at Denny’s after a night out and while they shop at the Air Jordan 12 shoe release.
What/Who: DC Health Link will target the young invincible audience this weekend at two events, the release of the popular Air Jordan 12 sneakers and at the late night/early morning hang outs at Denny’s restaurants.
At the Air Jordan release, the Assisters will meet hundreds of young men and women standing in lines anxious to be among the first to purchase the new Jordan sneakers. Assisters will walk the rope line and distribute information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and DC Health Link, the District’s new online marketplace for health insurance coverage. Assisters will also encourage the younger generation to make appointments to enroll in affordable health insurance plans.
At the Denny’s Restaurants where the young people visit after a night out, Assisters will set up shop to provide information, answer questions and enroll residents in affordable health plans.
Fox News aired coverage of the long line outside a DC shoe story where young people waited to buy the newly released $170 Nike Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” sneakers.
“My motto is ‘Get them health care while you get them Jordans,” DC Health Links representative Vanessa Brooks told Fox.
“Get some health care to go along with them taxis, OK?” Brooks told those at the store, according to the report. “You got to have it. And you need it.”
But it has become quite clear: the young and healthy lined up for the new Air Jordan Taxis will not be lining up anytime soon to buy into the uncool, mess called Obamacare.
