College under fire for cancelling concert; band members ‘not black enough’

Administrators at a private liberal arts college in Amherst, Massachusetts are being accused of canceling a Halloween concert last month because the lead singer of the band was “not black enough.”

In a letter to Jonathan Lash, president of Hampshire College, the American Civil Liberties Union criticized the school’s decision to cancel the event, saying it was clearly race-based, according to Campus Reform.

“The genesis of the decision, as you know rested on the accusation that this afro-funk band had insufficient representation of people of color,” the letter read.

The band is called “Shokazoba,” and it specializes in Afrobeat music style, according to MassLive, a local online publication which recently obtained the ACLU’s letter.

MassLive reported that the performance “was canceled after some students voiced concerns that the band, which has a black singer but is predominantly white, was appropriating black music.”

ACLU official William Newman did state in the letter that the band was accused of cultural appropriation and misappropriation, and called for an apology.

“Comments posted on the event Facebook page, maintained and monitored by the college, state that the African-American lead singer was not black enough,” he wrote.

Elaine Thomas, Hampshire director of communications, told Campus Reform by email that the school has a different understanding of the situation.

“At issue here are very different understandings of what occurred by the band and by the students who organized the event,” she said. “Our dean of students, who is the individual working on this, has reached out to the band and asked to meet with them.”

So much for the post-racial era supposedly ushered in by President Barack Obama.

I laugh at liberals. Heads up their asses every day. Quota systems even in a band you hire? So let me get this straight. I’m forced into embracing other cultures, and when I do you say I’m not allowed to embrace them that much. Damned hypocrite losers are liberals. The dumbest people on earth.

If it weren’t for the liberal racists claiming to be the one’s fighting racism but actually perpetuating it, this country would be beyond using skin color as an issue, either way. Liberals don’t want progress, they want the decisiveness brought on by the imaginary struggle for equality. Their worst nightmare is a truly racist free society. Become a conservative, ignore the likes of Al Sharpton, judge people by the content of their character, and let’s get on with saving our country from the race baiting hate mongers called liberal democrats. The very people on the news every day complaining about the so called “great divide” between the haves and the have nots, are the ones causing the divide in the first place.

If i called any kind of music “White Music” I would be branded a racist. Fck these n!ggers.

Racism is an ‘artificial construct’ of Collectivism which tries to ‘color code’ people into opposing groups. There is only one ‘race’ called the Human Race. The Political Commissars of Hampshire College, a private liberal arts college, are merely carrying out the indoctrination that’s already being enforced there, as well as every other ‘liberal arts college’ where racism is honed into a fine art.
