Sen. Marco Rubio in London to deliver transatlantic trade speech

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., arrived in London on Monday for an official three-day trip as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Select Committee on Intelligence.

Rubio will meet Tuesday with British government officials and deliver a speech titled, “American Leadership and the Future of the Transatlantic Alliance,” at an event hosted by Chatham House and the Legatum Institute, according to a statement from the senator’s office.

Rubio visited Exchequer Chancellor George Osborne at 11 Downing St. and Secretary of State for Defence Philip Hammond at the UK Ministry of Defence, according to the statement.
