True thanks: Foster teen wished for real Thanksgiving, got bigger blessing instead

A North Texas kid who aged out of the foster care system wanted but one thing out of life — to experience a real traditional American Thanksgiving celebration. He was finally granted his wish this year, and received something he didn’t expect — a family.

When a local TV station reported on the plight of Seth Miller, 18, who was living in his car after having been in foster care since age seven, well-meaning viewers took heart and sent him food, cash, even new tires for his car, according to ABC affiliate WFAA.

The family who had adopted his sister Shyann reached out, took him in and eventually decided to adopt him. Now his life is complete.

While MSNBC hosts consider Thanksgiving a celebration of genocide, Salon. com columnists call it a day for sociopaths and the Obama White House sees it as an opportunity to tout food stamps and Obamacare, this young teen knows what the true meaning is — a day to give thanks for friends and family.
