Conservative director refers to Obama as ‘grown-up Trayvon,’ left goes insane

Conservative author and political commentator Dinesh D’Souza fired up the left Tuesday with a tweet that referred to President Obama as “Grown-Up Trayvon.”

The tweet was eventually deleted, along with a follow-up tweet that Politico reported to have said: “Feigned outrage on the left over me calling Obama ‘grown up Trayvon’ except that Obama likened himself to Trayvon!”

The original tweet was captured in a screen grab by MSNBC’s Adam Serwer:

Dinesh D'Souza tweet

The tweet was a play on comments made by Obama after George Zimmerman was acquitted in the death of Trayvon Martin, when he offered, “Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.”

D’Souza wrote and narrated the documentary “2016: Obama’s America,” which examined Obama’s political views that were said to be heavily influenced by the “anti-colonial” beliefs of his absentee father, Barack Obama Sr.

It didn’t take long for the haters on the left to make themselves known, starting with Michael Moore, who somehow equated D’Souza’s comment as a threat to Obama’s life:

And the media calls the tea party extreme?

Serwer was also quick to jump into the fray, making it clear that while the left is given carte blanche to exploit Trayvon Martin’s death, this courtesy does not extend to anyone on the right.
