The John F. Kennedy administration’s days of Camelot began with promise and hope and ended in tears and tragedy, after lasting but a thousand days.
It was a previous generation’s 9/11, in the sense that those who bore witness to the event will never forget where they were and what they were doing as the details were reported to the public.
