The John F. Kennedy administration’s days of Camelot began with promise and hope and ended in tears and tragedy, after lasting but a thousand days.
It was a previous generation’s 9/11, in the sense that those who bore witness to the event will never forget where they were and what they were doing as the details were reported to the public.
The following video, compiled by Time Magazine, depicts the news coverage during the 30-minute span from the moment our 35th president was reported shot, to the time he was pronounced dead.
