George, Laura Bush with Jay Leno; shows off paintings, sense of humor

Former President George W. Bush demonstrated both grace and wit at a rare appearance on Tuesday’s “The Tonight Show” with host Jay Leno.

As President Barack Obama’s ratings have been tanking lately, people are beginning to take a second look at his predecessor and for good reason when he refusal to criticize the current president.

“I don’t think it’s good for the country to have a former president criticize his successor,” he said. Unlike the current commander-in-chief, he followed the same rule with respect to his own predecessor, President Bill Clinton.

Watch the fun.

Laura Bush was brought out for the second half of the interview. When Leno asked about the former president’s recent heart attack, she confirmed that it was “very scary.”

“I wasn’t that scared,” said President Bush.

“You had Obamacare?” asked Leno.
