President Barack Obama has just experienced what is likely his toughest week yet, with fellow Democrats only too quick to add to his misery.
The lead story on Drudge this morning, “Dems Turn on Obama,” is a report on Democratic lawmakers voting alongside Republicans to allow Americans to keep their existing health insurance plans, and now U.S. Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., is even piling on.
Buried in a New York Daily News report of the president’s press conference Thursday, Rangel blasted Obama for his weak apology for all the problems associated with the rollout of Obamacare.
“If I had the problem, saying you’re sorry doesn’t help me worth a damn at the polls, unless I can staple your remarks to the ballot,” Rangel said.
A clear sign that Democrats vulnerable in next year’s election are not happy with the position they’ve been put in. Obama did acknowledge that he had let down Democrats, according to the Daily News. “I feel deeply responsible for making it harder for them, rather than easier for them,” he said.
Rangel’s comment did not escape the notice of some:

As is often the case on Twitter, the responses are better than the original comment:
