‘Healthy Ho’s’ explain why sex workers are celebrating Obamacare

Referring to prostitutes as small business owners, CNN Money highlighted a “risqué performance” last week in San Franscisco, dubbed the “Healthy Ho’s Party,” designed to encourage sex workers to enroll in Obamacare.

The event was part of an Obamacare registration drive organized by “Siouxsie Q,” a Bay Area sex worker, CNN reported. Volunteers from her weekly podcast, The WhoreCast, staffed the event.

Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up — and the odds are it was taxpayer funded!

With reports out now saying only six people signed up the first day Obamacare was available to the public, CNN Money accurately described the “Healthy Ho’s Party” as a “rousing success” when it reported that “nearly 40 men and women attended and almost all of them filed enrollment paperwork.”

In the all-cash, off-the-books sex industry, you can be sure that most qualified for healthy government subsidies, if not entirely free coverage via Medicaid.

Siouxsie Q shared with CNN how she and her partner could not afford health insurance before Obamacare.

“We just couldn’t swing [insurance] in the Bay Area — we’re lower middle class, recent college graduates, in Startup Land trying to make our way,” she said.

Note that both are identified as “recent college graduates.”

CNN reports that Obamacare “will cover contraception, screening for sexually transmitted infections, and violence counseling at no additional charge.” That is, unless you are among the millions who’ve seen their healthcare premiums skyrocket.
