Amid all the depressing news coming out of Washington, D.C., these days, stories of those in the military returning from war to surprise family are the perfect remedy. These stories just never get old.
Grab some tissue!
Air Force Lt. Col. Richard Altobello has just returned from a six month deployment to Afghanistan and showed up Friday at Miller Elementary School in Arlington, Texas to surprise his 9-year-old daughter Ashlyn Altobello.
When Ashlyn saw dad come through the door of her classroom with a bouquet of flowers, she leapt from her chair and shouted “Daddy!” as she jumped into his arms, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Several images were tweeted out by Star-Telegram reporter Monica Nagy capturing the moment as it happened. There’s only one way to interpret the first image, that is one happy little face.
