Romney advisor: In 2014 voters will be talking toppling Obamacare, not shutdown

Mitt Romney’s foreign policy advisor put the rancor generated by the government shutdown in perspective when he said that a year from now, voters will have forgotten all about it. Their concerns will instead be centered on the Obamacare disaster, Dan Senor said.

On ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” the show’s host described the beating Republicans are taking over the shutdown.

While agreeing that the GOP has taken the brunt of the hits, Senor said, “A year from now, this will have been long resolved. And I don’t think voters will be talking about the shutdown and the disfunction. What they will be talking about is the failed implementation of Obamacare.”

He added that the demographics will favor Republicans more than Democrats in 2014.

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman countered that the Affordable Care Act won’t be the issue Senor claimed it will, calling its current problems merely “a software glitch.”
