U.S. Sen.Ted Cruz, R-Texas, may have taken on the challenge of a marathon speech against Obamacare on the Senate floor, but he managed to spend a few minutes on dad duty by reading Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham” to his two young daughters.
Cruz said that his two daughters, Catherine and Caroline, were watching Tuesday night, after he told them to tune in at 8 p.m., when he began reading Bible verses, according to Business Insider.
The dramatic rendition of the famous children’s story was a hot topic on Twitter:
After finishing the book, Cruz sent a special message to the girls.
“My angels I love you with all my heart,” he said. “It’s bedtime. Give mommy a hug and a kiss. Say your prayers. Daddy’s going to be home soon.”
It looks like they enjoyed it.
