The “Truckers to Shut Down America” movement is still in full swing for the weekend of Oct. 11-13, and is now receiving support from Canadian truck drivers as well. Not everyone shows the same enthusiasm that our neighbors to the north show, and even question the wisdom of an activity that purports to “shut down the country.”

While American truckers head off to Washington, a group called “Canadian truckers to shut down” established its own Facebook page on Sept. 19, to show their solidarity with their brothers and sisters in the U.S., and as of Monday, has over 4,000 “Likes,” according to the group’s Facebook page.

However, instead of heading to D.C., the Canadian truckers will be trucking on over to Toronto. “ Let’s join the Americans and shut down Oct. 11 to 13th, 2013. Stay home or let’s head to Toronto and shut it down,” the group instructs on its page.

Meanwhile, plans for the U.S. truckers are really firming up. Amid growing controversy about the sudden removal of its Facebook page, which had soared to over 80,000 likes, the group has launched a new website, “Ride for the Constitution.org,” and are making it possible for everyone to get involved to stop the “corruption against the Constitution,” according to the group’s site.

They’ve also put together a flyer, that states:

American truckers are … great patriots, and they are all well aware of what is happening to our U.S. Constitution. Through this campaign, they are leading the convoy of all Americans coast to coast who wish to restore our Constitutional Republic. America is calling out to our Patriots, and if any group can help lead the charge to save our nation, it’s the U.S. Truckers.

The flyer calls upon all independent truckers to bring their rigs to D.C. for the weekend. It also encourages non-truckers to make the drive, or at least get out on the road to show support. It finally calls upon everyone during the three-day period to boycott any item that’s moved by truck — that would include just about everything.

Finally, the group is receiving media support from The Pete Santilli Show on GuerillaMediaNetwork, com.
