With all the fuss over Thursday’s protest by fast food workers across the United States demanding higher wages, the union-led effort has gotten the attention of other Americans earning less than what the “entitlement class” is demanding.
Protesters are insisting that their paltry wages be raised to $15 an hour, which is well above the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
And as noted by Twitchy, if fast food workers do end up securing that $15 an hour wage, a lot of people might want to trade in their degrees for spatulas — yes, there are a lot of highly skilled positions making less than that today.
A lot of ppl working in the nonprofit & education sectors don’t make $15/hour. I understand needing a livable wage but c’mon! #fastfood

.@DLoesch I don’t make $15 an hour as a public school teacher. Surely teaching children merits more money than flipping burgers. — Leah (@gopfirecracker) August 29, 2013
