In yet another interracial crime involving an elderly victim, a 93-year-old Indiana woman was brutally raped in her own home by a 17-year-old boy who had kicked her back door in to gain entry.
Iquise Taylor, the alleged assailant, was charged as an adult on Monday for the July 16 attack after a positive DNA match. The victim, Amelia Rudolf, was asleep at the time of the break-in, according to WWLP-22 News.
Taylor was charged with rape, burglary, criminal confinement and strangulation. Since the attack, Rudolf has been staying with family members, but was anxious to return to the home she had known for decades.
“I would like to go back because it is the house my husband built for me and my family,” she said. “I have been happy all my life there until now.”
A footprint left behind by the attacker told investigators he was wearing socks but no shoes. A witness told police they saw Anderson that night sweating profusely without any shoes.
Rudolf thanked the police for finding her attacker.
“I couldn’t believe that it was this soon,” she said. “I didn’t think I would live long enough to see who did it. But, I’m happy it turned out the way it is.”
So far, there has been no comment from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson or the White House.
