Protesters removed from Ted Cruz Texas town hall amid ‘USA’ chants

After two protesters at a town hall meeting on defunding the Affordable Care Act were shouted down, the Republican Texas U.S. senator conducting the meeting addressed their objections.

At a Dallas “Defund Obamacare” town hall meeting Tuesday night, Sen. Ted Cruz, was interrupted by demonstrators who chanted, “You have health care so should we.” The rest of the gathering came to Cruz’s aid by coming to their feet and chanting, “USA! ISA!”

As the demonstrators were escorted out, Cruz said he shared their concerns.

“They should have health care,” he said. “And Obamacare is causing more and more people struggling to climb the economic ladder to lose their health care.”

He then made an observations about the paid proponents of Obamacare.

“President Obama’s group Organizing for America is trying to pay people to pretend that the grass roots are with them,” he said. “I’ll tell you, every time they come to protest in Texas they send a small group of people, and y’all have outnumbered them two and three and four to one.”
