Who wants the tee shirt? Sarah Palin is on Team Rand and the U.S. senator from Kentucky just loves it!
America’s conservative darling Sarah Palin told CNN this weekend she is on the side of Sen. Rand Paul in his verbal battle with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie who recently criticized Paul’s “dangerous” libertarian views, Politico reported.
“I’m on team Rand,” Palin said. “Rand Paul understands. He gets the whole notion of ‘Don’t tread on me, government,’ whereas Chris Christie is for big government and, you know, trying to go along to get along in so many respects.”
The head of “Team Rand” responded to Palin with some back-at-you love of his own Tuesday on CNN.
“I love an endorsement by Sarah Palin, what’s not to love?” Politico reported Paul said.
According to the report, Paul continued:
Team Rand, you know, whatever that means, can include a lot of people. What I’ve been telling people is that I want to grow the Republican Party and that means that some of the libertarian ideas of respecting people’s privacy, respecting the Fourth Amendment, not spying on Americans, I think that appeals to a lot of young people and will bring new people into our party if we become the party of privacy. It’s hurt the president significantly,” Paul said.
Although many conservatives like to quip they “stand with Rand,” Palin very well may just have coined the new slogan: Team Rand.
For those of you don’t know, the wildly popular, “Team Edward and Team Jacob,” stem from the two love interests teenager “Bella Swan” must choose between in the best selling “Twilight” series of books and now, movies.
