Intense video: NBC reporter ducks as Egyptian army fires on protesters

Following through with its warning, Egypt’s military swarmed the streets of Cairo Wednesday in what turned out to be a violent and deadly crackdown on pro-Morsi supporters staging a sit-in protest.

Multiple reports said over a hundred people have been killed with hundred more injured as the military broke through the pro-Morsi protesters.

NBC News’ Richard Engel nervously reported live from an Egyptian street Wednesday morning, but was forced to run for cover amidst live fire.

Egyptian military forces are clearly using live ammunition. They are firing into the side streets. There are  front line positions between protesters and security forces all over Cairo and this one looks like it is about to get very ugly.
