Want to see how Obamacare’s going to play out? Just look at “Obama phones.”

That was clear from the liberal logic in full swing during a Sean Hannity segment on Thursday when longtime progressive and Hillary Clinton crony Jehmu Greene laughably described the “Obama phones” made famous during the 2012 campaign as “not a federal government program” because there’s “no taxpayer money involved with it.”

Fox political analyst Angela McGlowan gasped audibly. And the fight was on.

McGlowan pointed out that the program – a redistribution-of-wealth-scheme overseen by the FCC — has exploded since Obama’s presidency began, and that a recent FCC audit found that almost 6 million of 13.8 million who received free phones and service without being eligible.

Greene, though, kept insisting that “Obama phones” are not a “federal program” because the money involved doesn’t come directly from the treasury.

Technically, Greene had a point. But that just proves the whole problem.

The program is paid for by fees on cell phone bills – fees that are mandated by the federal government. Those billions of dollar, about $2.50 per customer per month, get spent on politically connected private companies with government contracts to provide phone service to the supposedly needy poor.

But as National Review writer Jillian Kay Melchtor wrote on Wednesday, you don’t have to be needy to get an Obamaphone, and the “free” phone service that comes with it. You don’t have to be much of anything except willing to ask for and accept something that someone else paid for — even if you have to lie about it.

So fraud is rampant, and literally billions of dollars collected by the federal government are being spent, allegedly to help the public but really lining the pockets of major Obama supporters like Carlos Slim, the Mexico billionaire who owns TracFone, the largest “Obama phone” contractor.

And liberals like Greene are playing word games to try to hide the truth.

At the end of the Hannity segment, McGlowan summed it up perfectly.

“Public assistance has expanded under this administration,” she said. “When you have so many people receiving federal funding – welfare, public assistance – you’re going to have fraud.”

Want to see how Obamacare’s going to play out? Federally mandated fees, amounting to billions of dollars, going to crony capitalists for “redistribution,” and liberals  playing word games to lie about all of it.

Obamacare is “Obama phones” writ large.
