Fake best friends Hillary Clinton and President Obama had lunch together Monday on the Oval Office patio and the media went crazy speculating on if it was to discuss her possible 2016 run for president.
“Adding to that speculation,” NBC News reported, Clinton was scheduled to have breakfast with Vice President Biden Tuesday morning, the man who could be her top competition for the nomination.
But, Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters it was just a “friendship” lunch, and a chance for the one-time rivals, but now good friends, to “catch up.”
“As you know, over the course of the last four years, and as much as been written about over the last four years how Secretary Clinton and the President have developed not just a strong working relationship but also a genuine friendship,” Earnest said at Monday’s briefing. “And so it’s largely friendship that’s on the agenda for the lunch today. So it’s not a working lunch as much as it is an opportunity for the two who saw each other on a pretty frequent basis over the course of the last four years to get a chance to catch up.”
The two enjoyed a menu of “grilled chicken, pasta jambalaya and salad,” the NBC News reported.
I wonder if Benghazi – four dead Americans, grieving family members, the terrorists who still remain at-large – was even discussed.
