Bill and Hillary Clinton are reportedly “pissed off” at the comparisons between their marriage and Huma Abedin’s loyal support toward her sext-crazed husband, Anthony Weiner.
“The Clintons are pissed off that Weiner’s campaign is saying that Huma is just like Hillary,’’ a source told the New York Post Monday. “How dare they compare Huma with Hillary? Hillary was the first lady. Hillary was a senator. She was secretary of state.”
The Weiner comparisons refer to Hillary standing by Bill throughout the scandalous affair with Monica Lewinsky, and through a slew of allegations about several other “marital betrayals.”
“The Clintons are upset with the comparisons that the Weiners seem to be encouraging — that Huma is ‘standing by her man’ the way Hillary did with Bill, which is not what she in fact did,’’ a top state Democrat said, according to the article.
According to the Post’s source, the Clintons were “stunned” with “Abedin’s surprisingly unequivocal support of her husband after his bombshell admission Tuesday that he engaged in salacious online sexting well after he resigned in disgrace from Congress in 2011.”
Abedin’s “whole stand-by-your-man routine” is “one of the reasons the Clintons are distancing themselves from all this nonsense,’’ the source told the paper.
The other reason the Clintons’ would be distancing themselves is Hillary’s possible run for president in 2016.
“Worried about the potential impact on Hillary’s likely run for president in 2016, the political power couple has begun aggressively distancing itself from the crippled mayoral contender,” sources told the Post.
Abedin was a former long-time aide of Hillary Clinton’s and the couple was even married by Bill Clinton in July 2010.
